Established in 1863, Politecnico di Milano is the most prestigious technical university in Italy, and is regarded as a point of reference in Europe and at world level.

The university has three faculties: Architecture, Design and Engineering. The entire postgraduate programmes offer is available in English, and allows Politecnico di Milano to host almost 7,000 international students, coming from more than 100 Countries.

WHEN DO PROGRAMMES START?

Lessons at Politecnico di Milano start in mid-September (1st Semester) and at the end of February (2nd Semester).

> APPLICATION AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

WHO CAN APPLY TO POLITECNICO DI MILANO?

It depends on the type of programme. In general:

- Undergraduate programmes: applicants are required to have a secondary school qualification conferred after a minimum of 12 years of schooling (overall).

- Postgraduate programmes: applicants are required to have a Bachelor degree or be in the process of completing a Bachelor degree in the same field of studies.

- PhD programmes: applicants are required do have five-year University Degree equal to a Master of Science.

WHEN TO APPLY TO POLITECNICO DI MILANO?

It depends on the programme:

- Undergraduate programmes: approx between April and end of July

- Postgraduate programmes: from September to November and from January to March for the September intake

- PhD: between April and May

IS AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE CERTIFICATE REQUIRED TO APPLY TO POLITECNICO DI MILANO?

Yes, if you wish to apply to any programmes, you need to have an English language certificate. The accepted certificates are listed on the PoliMi website, application procedures section.

IS ITALIAN LANGUAGE REQUIRED TO APPLY TO POLITECNICO DI MILANO?

If you apply for a study programme taught in English, you are not required to have any Italian language certificate. If the teaching language of the programme you wish to apply is Italian, an Italian language certificate (level B1) is required in addition to the English language certificate.

> WORK

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A FOREIGN STUDENT TO WORK IN ITALY?

Italian and European citizens can work full time, while non-European citizens can sign contracts that allow them to work for a maximum of 20 hours per week, until their residence permit expires.
