Budapest Metropolitan University
With a constantly growing number of students, education venues and campuses, and a diverse range of programs, today Budapest Metropolitan University is the largest private University and the biggest arts institution in Hungary with around 6500 students. METU is state recognized and accredited by the Hungarian Education authority and the Hungarian Accreditation Committee.
Located in the heart of Europe, Budapest offers affordable living expenses while still providing a western European way of life. METU has 1000 international students from more than 100 countries from all over the world thanks to the large selection of degree programs offered in English. METU has several Bachelor’s, Master’s and an MBA program taught fully in English in the fields of art & design, communication & media, business & economics and tourism.
Students of business programs can even get a UK degree from Northumbria University. This way, students can study 2 years in Budapest and 1 year in London. At the end of the program, they are rewarded a Northumbria University (UK) degree.
Students can also benefit from a wide range of internship opportunities at multinational companies and they are also offered a great variety of trainings focusing on learning by doing. METU has developed a truly unique teaching system called MyBrand, which aims to enhance graduate employability. It consists of special trainings and cooperative teaching methods which develops students to be top-notch professionals and enables them to use their knowledge even from the next day. Renowned academics, top business professionals and artists are also recruited to our lecturing team. General language courses are also available to further expand the students’ skills. They can choose from 12 languages from Chinese to Spanish while studying at METU.
As regards housing, METU has two contracted dormitories to make the first semesters easier for the students. Most of the dorms are located either very close to the campuses or in the city center. The students can choose from 2-4 bed rooms. The prices are between 220-280 EUR/ month.
Also, Budapest offers a wide range of housing options from student’s hostels till private apartments. Generally, these options cost between 250- 600 EUR/ month depending on the level of comfort and the location of the accommodation.
Living costs are fairly affordable in Budapest- Hungary indeed offers affordable living expenses while still providing a western European way of life. Living costs are around 400-700 EUR/ month depending on the accommodation, food preferences, hobbies etc.
Budapest Metropolitan University also offers a wide range of study abroad opportunities for the students. METU has around 200 partner universities from all over the world, where students go studying with 1 or 2 semesters or even do internship with scholarships
The tuition fees of our Bachelor’s programs start from 1750 EUR/semester for non-art and 2375 EUR/semester for art students. For Master’s programs this fee starts from 2100 EUR/ semester for non-art and 2700 EUR/ semester for art students.

The application to the university is really straightforward, METU offers swift admission through its online, user-friendly application form where students can get admitted in only a few days. The services include assistance with the Visa procedure, finding accommodation and getting health insurance as well.
