Savonia University of Applied Sciences is one of Finland's biggest and most versatile universities of applied sciences. Our organisation is committed to the education of strong professionals in six different study fields. Our versatile programmes offer students the opportunity to study as a full-time student or alongside their job (Master programmes). We have campuses in three different cities: Iisalmi, Kuopio and Varkaus. Altogether we have 530 staff members and over 7000 students from which 500 are international students.

Is the entrance examination online?
Yes, you can apply fully online to all of our programmes.
Do I need have a TOEFL or IELTS?
No, we do not require you to have any certificate concerning your English language proficiency. Your English language proficiency is evaluated during the different stages of the admission process.
Who needs to pay the tuition fee?
You don’t have to pay the tuition fee if you have one of these documents:
- Passport or identity card to indicate the citizenship of EU/EEA/Switzerland
- EU blue card in Finland
- EU Family Member’s Residence Card in Finland
- Continuous residence permit card in Finland, Type A permit
- EU residence permit for third-country citizens with long-term residence permit card in Finland (type P-EU)
- Permanent residence permit card in Finland, Type P permit
- Proof from the Finnish Immigration Service that you have registered, or applied to register, your EU right to residence in Finland (UK-citizens)
Please note, that the residence permit in another EU/EEA country is not sufficient grounds for exemption, only residence permits in Finland can be considered.
How much is the scholarship?
The annual tuition fee for our Bachelor degrees is of 6000 EUR per year and for our Master Degrees 7000 EUR.
Savonia UAS grants only partial scholarships and only for the tuition fee. The scholarship is not paid to the student but is deducted directly from the tuition fee.
In the first academic year, all students who are obligated to pay the tuition fee will automatically get the scholarship, which covers 50% of the tuition fee. In the following academic years, the scholarship covers max. 50% of the tuition fee.
